You're invited to a virtual public meeting with theGroundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) responsible for developing aGroundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the North American GroundwaterSubbasin (NASb) on Wednesday, March 10 at 6 p.m.

Representatives of the Sacramento Groundwater Authority GSA, West PlacerGSA, South Sutter GSA, Sutter County GSA, and RD1001 GSA will be available todiscuss the latest information about our planning efforts towards developmentof the NASb GSP, as required by the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act(SGMA).

This will be the second of three public meetings:

1. SGMA and Sustainable Management Criteria (February 10) - In thisfirst meeting, we provided an overview of SGMA, the draft chapters recentlycompleted, and our current efforts to define groundwater levels and othercriteria to measure sustainability in the basin. A recording of this meetingcan be viewed at nasbgroundwater.org(click on Events and open the Feb 10 meeting).

2. Water Budget (March 10) - In this second meeting, we will discussthe results of the basin wide groundwater model and groundwater budget. Thewater budget -- an accounting of inflows, outflows, and changes in storage --will give us a good understanding of our subbasin, assist in long range planning, and help us know how much water can be safely pumped from the basin whileremaining sustainable.

3. Projects and Management Actions (planned for Wednesday, April 14)- In this third meeting, we will discuss the projects and management actionsthat will potentially be included in the GSP and that could be implementedshould the basin become unsustainable, or at risk of becoming unsustainable, asindicated by the results of the above-mentioned monitoring of water groundwaterconditions.
